Recently we have been looking ahead into what we need for life after work lol
Doesn't that sound wonderful? Imagine not having to work everyday and just enjoy life and do all those things you thought about doing when you were younger... well i have come to the realization that if i don't save money i won't be going anywhere hot and lovely.

I am looking for ideas on saving money and really would like to have enough discipline to save up chunks of money.

So i have opened a Third bank acct. I am going to surprise my hunny with a trip one day and we are going to have our honey moon finally... shhh don't tell him k

Well i am looking for anyones advice in the matter of saving chunks of money, I wasn't brought up to save farther just get by or budget.

  1. Cheryl,
I was recently told that I am the perfect text book example of how people should handle their money. My number one advise is to live within your means...
Have a goal and stick to it. Don't purchase something unless you can pay it off on the next payment. Remember, all the little things like drive-thru coffee, movie visits, take-out adds up to big money. Treat yourself once in a while and stash the rest away.
Another idea when saving money is to stay away from stores, and by that I mean all stores other than for grocery shopping. Try it for a month and you'll see how much you'll save.
    Good luck!

  2. A penny saved is a penny earned! Know where your pennies are going. We may budget and know where the big money goes but most of the time have no idea where the cash goes.

Avoid impulse buys and buying under pressure. Put off buying until the next day once you're sure you really need it.

Perimeter shop at the grocery store. Avoid the processed foods in the aisles and impulse buys at the cash.

Stay away from the Dollar store!

    Auntie C.

  3. Great idea! I hope it grows and grows.
